I’ve seen a lot of buzz around the buy diablo 4 items update roadmap Blizzard just dropped, but I’m not convinced—at least not yet.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Diablo. I’ve been playing since D2, and I sunk over 300 hours into D4 last year. But a flashy roadmap isn’t a substitute for real, sustained improvement.
For example, they’re hyping up the “new class reveal” like it’s the second coming. That’s cool and all, but it’s just content dressing if the core issues persist. Itemization is still a mess. Gear progression doesn't feel satisfying past a point, and too many builds rely on a handful of affixes.
They mentioned “massive endgame improvements,” but we’ve heard that before. The seasonal models still feel like a hamster wheel with minor modifiers. Unless they completely revamp how rewards scale, it won’t matter how many dungeon types they add.
PvP arenas? Fun idea. But are they balancing for that or just slapping on a ranking system? Diablo’s combat is notoriously hard to balance across classes. Without serious tweaks, PvP will either be broken or ignored.
Also, I didn’t see much about performance optimization or bug fixes, which are still a problem on console. The game stutters like crazy in group content, and don’t even get me started on rubberbanding in Helltide zones.
I want to believe in this roadmap. But after a rocky launch and lukewarm seasons, Blizzard needs to earn that trust again. I’ll keep an eye on 2025 updates, but I’m not buying the hype just yet.
Curious if anyone else feels the same. Are we getting D4 Materials for Sale overexcited too early?
