Top 5 Pitching Methods in MLB The Show 25 – Ranked by Control and Realism
So after playing a few dozen games in Franchise and Diamond Dynasty, I’ve tested everymlb 25 stubs pitching method in MLB The Show 25 pretty extensively. Here's my ranking of the top 5 pitching methods, based on control, realism, and ease of use:
1. Pinpoint Pitching
Easily the most accurate and skill-based method. If you can master the timing and movement inputs, this gives you the tightest command of the strike zone. It's especially satisfying to dot corners with perfect releases. High skill ceiling, but once it clicks, you’ll dominate.
2. Meter Pitching
Still a fan-favorite. Simple, reliable, and consistent. Not quite as precise as Pinpoint, but it offers enough control for most players. Great for classic players or those who don't want to memorize timing patterns.
3. Pulse Pitching
It’s a love-it-or-hate-it system. I find it decent for offline play, and it gives some visual feedback, but the pulsating circle can be distracting in high-pressure moments. Not bad for casual users or those who want some challenge.
4. Classic Pitching
Basically just location and pitch selection—no meter, no timing. I use this for sim-heavy Franchise runs when I want to focus more on strategy than mechanics. It’s not great for competitive play, but for pure immersion and realism, it’s a solid choice.
5. Analog Pitching
This one feels the least consistent for me. I like the concept of flicking the stick for pitch location, but execution-wise, it just doesn’t match up to the other systems in terms of control. That said, some players swear by it, especially for that "feel" of being on the mound.
Every method has its pros and cons, and ultimately it comes down to your personal playstyle. But if you're looking for the best balance between realism and effectiveness, I’d say give Pinpoint and Meter a serious try.
Curious to hear what pitching style everyone else is running with this year!
