The heating season started, and the furnace (we had an old Rheem, at least 20 years old) started making some strange sounds, like a helicopter starting up. At first, we also decided that it was a filter or dirt in the air ducts, but after a couple of cold nights, my husband gave in and said: “Call whoever you want, but I can’t listen to this anymore.” I went online, looked for Furnace Dealers in Langley, BC, and, honestly, my head was spinning. There were tons of ads, the reviews were varied, some had 5 stars, and at the bottom they wrote “never again.” In the end, I found a small, but, as it turned out, very smart company — Valley Furnace Solutions. Their website is not so promoted, but in the reviews people wrote real things, without marketing fluff. I called — they picked up the phone right away, asked a lot of adequate questions, and didn’t try to foist it on me. The technician arrived two days later, and he was a real professional: he looked at everything, showed photos of the inside of the stove (and honestly, I would have been afraid to just touch it), explained what was happening and how, gave three possible solutions. We could patch it up temporarily, or replace it. In the end, we took a stove from Goodman, not the most expensive, but very reliable. The installation took about 7 hours - they did everything carefully, adjusted the height, connected it to the existing thermostat, checked everything. And what's cool is that after the end, they even removed all the trash and swept the boiler room! We ended up with about $6,000, of which FortisBC later returned $800 (they helped me file the application, I wouldn't have figured it out on my own, to be honest).

"I appreciate the detailed breakdown here. For anyone on a tight budget, I’ve had a decent experience with GoogieHost's free PHP hosting since they transitioned to the DirectAdmin panel. The 1GB NVMe storage is plenty for lightweight PHP projects, and the fact that they've been around since 2012 gives a bit more peace of mind than some of the newer 'free' hosts that disappear after a month."
